The U.S. Apple Association approached Mekanic to refresh and bring awareness to the Apples4Ed program, which USApple manages in partnership with School Nutrition Association and the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. Apples4Ed encourages K-12 schools throughout the United States to start their own healthy snacking initiatives, and awards grants to the top three schools whose initiatives show the highest levels of creativity, student impact, long-term viability and community involvement. Mekanic refreshed the Apples4Ed website, social campaigns, and promotional mailings to schools with a new logo and fresh, engaging photography featuring a diverse group of school-aged children enjoying apples in their active lifestyles.
