Nikos "Going away party!" Nikos will DJ from 11pm-1am

Nikos was born in Athens Greece but most of his early childhood was spent with his dad who was a merchant marine captain both travelling around the world. When home he would spend countless hours listening to his father’s beloved record collection. At the age thirteen he discovered Rhythm & Blues which prompt him to pick up his first instrument, the guitar. From that point there was no turning back! "Music" would be the focal point of his life.

He formed numerous bands playing Rock & Blues covers as well as originals but at the age of nineteen he was drafted. Three years later after he came out of the army emotionally and physically bruised by the experience, he had no desire to pursuit his love of music. He started working as a junior editor at a magazine, but within a couple of years he was back attempting to create his own sound influenced by artists such as Brian Eno, Prince and The Clash.

While in England he studied filmaking but it was really his desire to play music on an international level that was the motivating force behind his moving to the UK. He moved to Bristol and played bass & trumpet with bands like Soul In Motion and got involved with a lot of the musicians who formed what was known as the Bristol Sound. Unfulfilled but still searching for that sound he stumbled upon a Roger Sanchez mix CD which fused everything he was looking for; Jazz, funk soul and blues all and it was called "house music."

He then travelled back to Greece and started DJing himself. He had a residency at the legendary Yazz Club in the island of Santorini, playing deep soulful house right on the beach. In the winter he played Fridays and Saturdays at The Loop, one of Athens’ premier spots playing a variety mix of garage & minimal techno. He had become one of Greece's hottest DJ's.

In 1998 he moved to Los Angeles and establishing himself as one of LA's finest DJ’s and Producers. With a regular guest spot at the legendary Does Your Mama Know? after hours party, a residency at Organic/FunkiTeknoTribe, SF and travelling around the US and in Europe. In the winter of 2002 he launched Under My Skin Records with record label executive Nori Okayama. Under My Skin today is one of the most respected record labels in the global house scene. His first underground hits "Yes Lord" followed by "Speaking In Tongues" created a huge buzz in the New York City and international underground.

Most recently Nikos signed a deal with Roger Sanchez's Stealth Records. His first single "Bright Like A Star" on Stealth was a soulful female vocal stormer which is also featured in Roger’s Release Yourself Vol 4 CD. He also remixed Stealth Records artist Deep & Dense which is scheduled to be released in the end of June.

His recent remake of Al Green’s classic #1 hit "Let’s Stay Together" on Under My Skin was a big tune in this year's WMC in Miami and it is now in rotation on radio stations around the world!

Nikos is currently working on his second single for Stealth and his full-length on Under My Skin.
