![]() ![]() Friday July 15, 2005 Martin East (Mundial, Epiphany) Martin East moved to Los Angeles from London and has quickly become one of the most in demand DJs in town, creating a growing reputation for diversity and an amazing ability to read a room. His passion for performing and producing music has firmly established him with clubs in and around Hollywood and developed a celebrity clientele that includes BT, Prince, Maxwell and the Foo Fighters. Martin has enjoyed DJ residencies in Atlanta’s Universal Culture and at numerous clubs throughout Los Angeles; he has played for Ministry of Sound and is currently pioneering his own night called Mundial. By 2000 Martin was the co-founder and musical director of Karnivale, later that year he shared the billing with Paul Oakenfold on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas. The summer of 2002 saw the release of his critically acclaimed Las Palmas Collectives, which is still sold at major stores globally. The Martin East Project is a described as a world lounge vibe and after the success of Neverending he is planning to release an album in 2005. Recently his Mundial remix of Jill Scott’s Golden was popular on KCRW, Martin has produced other remixes for New Order, Mystic, Jill Scott, Nikka Costa and A Man Called Adam. His original music has been released and licensed by Ministry of Sound, Water Music and Vujade. Corporate clients have included Porsche, Mercedes, Frederick’s of Hollywood, 20th Century Fox, Miramax, CAA, GQ and Harpers Bazaar, with events ranging from Golden Globe parties to New York fashion shows. He played an integral part in Jaguar’s recent Xdrive program. When not acting as an Editor for URB magazine, Martin is currently releasing material through Binary Soul in Los Angeles.
